Women In Public Space(s) Project

This project is supported by the Ford Foundation and seeks to honour and document Kenyan women from diverse backgrounds that have been pivotal in the articulation of issues of public concern. It has enabled scholars and students from the School, and the Departments of History and Literature to research, archive and document the life histories of women who have engaged with matters of public nature, inspired and mentored others and positively engineered women and society in general to better their livelihoods. Publications and a 60-minute documentary shall be launched later in 2013.

Coummunication For Development Programme

This project is supported by the UNDP and involves the development of generic curricular at the Masters and PhD levels on Communication for Development. The programme is being implemented in collaboration with the Media Council of Kenya and the Ministry of Information and Communication. The project involves basic research, consultations with scholars and a regional conference to discuss the curricular.
