The 4th year students are planning to screen their final year projects in a film event Dubbed Vuka film festival This even will take place between Wednesday 11th - Friday 13th June 2025.
This is to invite you to the 3 day event as we experience the creative effort of our students and equally support their transition journey.
We are pleased to invite you all to the VUKA Student Film Festival 2025, a film screening event organized by final year students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Nairobi. This special occasion will showcase a diverse range of documentary films produced as final projects by our talented graduating students. The event is scheduled to take place on 11 th ,12 th and 13 th June, 2025 from 9:00am to 5:00pm, at The University of Nairobi, Chandaria Auditorium.
The theme of this year's showcase is “Voices Unheard”. The documentaries explore real life experiences of widowhood and orphanhood in Kenya, their challenges, cultural narratives but most importantly their resilience, courage and the unwavering spirit of community, all through the lens of young upcoming storytellers.
The festival will also feature keynote sessions by distinguished guests and panel discussions on key issues and concepts surrounding documentary production, storytelling ethics and social impact in media. Day three will be special as there will be a special appearance and presentation by the Docubox team before an awards ceremony.
