PROF. SAM CHEGE VISITS ALMA MATER

July 26, 2023:  Prof. Samuel Mwangi Chege from Kansas State University, USA pays a courtesy call to the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Nairobi. He is welcomed by Prof. Silas Oriaso, Chair, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. Prof. Samuel Chege is an alumnus of the department. With them is Ms. Gladys Kitheka, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Nairobi.

KIMC VISITS DOJMC UON

July 25, 2023:  A team from Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) visited the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (DOJMC), University of Nairobi. The meet the team was Prof. Silas Oriaso, Chair, DOJMC-UON (Second from right) and Mr Fred Ogutu, Lecturer and Studio Manager, University of Nairobi TV and Radio (Extreme left) and Ms. Gladys Kitheka, DOJMC Administration (Third from left). The KIMC team comprises of Mr. Charles Odenyo, Mr. Vincent Ochieng and Mr. Demish Otieno.

July 4, 2023:  Prof Silas Oriaso, Chairman Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (DOJMC), University of Nairobi (UON) meeting with Mr. Morgan Kiptum, Director of University of Nairobi Alumni Association, Ms. Lydia Akaranga, Administrative Assistant, also from Univerity of Nairobi Alumni Association. With them is Ms. Gladys Kitheka and Prof. Hezron Mogambi both from Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Nairobi.

HONGERA PROFESSOR SILAS ODONGO ORIASO

June 23, 2023:  The University of Nairobi has today promoted Dr. Silas Oriaso to the position of Associate Professor in Scientific and Development Communications. Prof. Oriaso holds a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Environmental/Climate Information Systems; Ph.D in Communication and Information Studies; M.Sc. in Climate and Development (EIS); M.A. in Communication Studies and B.Ed (Arts). Prof. Oriaso has widely published in the global level peer review journals. He has also supervised over 10 Ph.D and several Masters theses. Besides teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students, Prof.

March 1, 2023:  Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (DOJMC) Chair Prof. Silas Oriaso receives Communication Authority (CA) representatives Ms. Namara Sande (2nd from left) and Ms. Laura Kang'ethe (3rd from left) for the CA's routine inspection of the University of Nairobi UNC Studios. Dr. Oriaso was accompanied by Mr. Fred Ogutu, Acting UNC Studio Manager and Ms. Wendy Cherono DOJMC Administrator.
